Great Lakes Energy and Truestream will host a fiber internet informational session on Tuesday, July 16 at the Kirtland Community College Events Center from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to Great Lakes Energy electric members who are eligible for Truestream, the cooperative’s fiber internet and voice network. Truestream is currently available to Great Lakes Energy members in parts of Allegan, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, and Otsego counties with expansion occurring in Crawford, Montmorency, and Otsego counties in 2024.
Event attendees will learn more about Truestream’s service offerings, including internet plans with speeds up to 1 Gig, no data caps, and no contracts. Participants will meet with Truestream representatives to discuss and answer questions about topics like:
- Construction steps and service plans.
- TV and streaming demo at 6 p.m.
- Equipment tech talk (modems, routers, Wi-Fi mesh, backup batteries, etc.).
- Setting up an online account and downloading the GLE mobile app.
- Registering for Truestream and specific questions about your account.
- How fiber internet works.
