Up to 8 students, $150/person (adult class)
Have you ever wanted to make a copy of a keepsake, recreate an object in a different material, or make multiples of a sculpture or 3d art piece? Learn to make custom molds for a variety of uses, including polymer clay crafts, decorative elements, candy molds, and more!
Emily Binard, experienced taxidermist, will provide demonstration based teaching on how to create a poured block mold using tin cured silicone, and how to create a brush up mold using platinum cured silicone.
Students will create their own small silicone putty push mold using objects and materials provided, which they can take home for future use. The class will also cover several different casting methods using semi-flexible urethane resin, which students will be able to try out using their own putty mold as well as various molds provided, and keep their resulting casts for future use.
NOTE: Silicone and urethane resins do not come out of fabrics. Please wear clothing you don't mind potentially ruining, or bring an apron or smock to wear over your clothes.
