This position is responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of numerous CNC and manual machines, in addition to overseeing installation of new machines periodically. When there is no maintenance to be done, the candidate may be asked to run CNC machines, perform set-ups, etc. as well to fulfill full-time work hours.  If you are looking for a fast-paced environment with overtime opportunities, working with a team of dedicated peers, this job might be a great fit for you.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to successfully perform reactive and preventative maintenance by accurately diagnosing and troubleshooting when incidents arise, as well as following procedures to predict and prevent future equipment failure.
  • Install and repair hydraulic, coolant, or air systems
  • Repair and/or replace gauges, valves and pressure regulators as required
  • Must have previous hydraulic and pneumatic experience
  • Must have experience and knowledge of PLC, controls and drives, and electrical power distribution
  • Assist with the installation, movement and disassembly of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain, overhaul, modify and repair machinery and stationary equipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting of CNC circuitry utilizing multi-meter & other diagnostic techniques.
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly upon completion of repairs, modifications and installations.
  • Read and interpret manuals schematics and process specifications to visualize layouts and guide work.
  • Collaborate with production departments to ensure maintenance requirements are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment practicing 5S principles, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement related to maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Maintain all equipment by performing routine repair work, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance.
  • Document corrective and preventative maintenance completed on machinery and create and maintain a regular maintenance schedule.

Requirements

  

Skills Required

  • Must have previous experience in the repair of CNC & manual machines. Technical education in industrial machine repair is highly desired. Experience with any of the following brands is highly desired. Haas, Fadal, DMG Mori, Mazak and Omax. 
  • Experience with the following equipment: EDM/Sinker, CNC, Grinders, & Milling.
  • Must have previous hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of PLC, controls and drives, and electrical power distribution.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical systems commonly used on 3 and 5-axis milling machining centers.
  • Proficiency in machine setups for production runs, blueprint reading, PLC troubleshooting skills, electrical troubleshooting skills, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC), Servo Motors, CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC), Universal Machining Center (5 axis UMC), Universal Machining Center (3-4 axis).
  • Ability to act independently, confidently, and with a sense of urgency
  • Team focused, with effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Must provide own hand tools.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, Protective Clothing

  • Air Way Automation is a machine shop and production facility. Individuals are exposed to noise and a variety of temperature conditions.
  • The incumbent may be required to stand most of the day, along with stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, and kneeling.
  • The position requires a minimal lifting ability of 50 pounds.
  • The incumbent will utilize safety glasses, ear protection and gloves regularly while performing the functions of this position, along with other PPE as necessary.
